Marketing is something that is a science rather then a job. It is something that can boost you forward, or hold you back. It all depends on your approach, your aggression, and your attitude. In this blog I will reveal a few marketing techniques that I've been utilizing on the Internet for the past 3 years in order to generate income for myself. Okay so here it is. The techniques that have earned me over $10,000. 0. Know what industry you are in. 1. Post proper ads online. 2. Answer your phone and set an appointment 3. Follow through on your appointment 4. Establish a minimum amount that you are willing to be paid. 5. Negotiate terms with client, or set official appointment date 6 Show up to work prepared. 7. Do quality work within your niche to ensure customer satisfaction. 8. Collect your money and run. This is one of the best techniques that I have used to establish not only a contact base but a very lucrative client base as well. It all started with my ad that I posted on Craigslist. If it wasn't for this ad, then I would not have my name out in the public for anybody who needs my service to call me. Most of the ads are the same, so I try to create my a little different. Either by throwing in some bold words, colored text, or even pictures. When a potential customer dials your phone number, be sure to answer the phone. Figure out when a good time to estimate the work would be. Once that time is established, record it down in your calender. Be sure to show up at that time. You can give the customer heads up that you are on your way. I set my minimum price for $125, when it comes to yard cleaning. Some people don't want to pay that much, which is okay. I am not trying to work for those low prices, if I want to be successful in my industry. You can always ask them what they were thinking on the price. Many will say like $20 bucks. At that point I tell them to hire a neighborhood kid. If you happen to land the job, Great! Be sure to arrive on the day that you said you would do the work and be sure that you are prepared. Whether you are an accountant, investor, marketer, advertiser, landscaper, affiliate, or whatever. Always be prepared. Never take short cuts. If you wouldn't want employees under you doing it, why would you do it yourself. Cheating is not good, it could lead to more cheating, in which at one point you will be caught. Just play your cards right, do a great job, and you will show that you take pride in the work that you do. Collect your money right after you are done with the work. In some industries you must collect the money up front before doing the work. Such industries are the music industry, or show biz. If you have a business account, you can deposit the funds directly into your bank. Another place you can deposit these funds is paypal. The technique described above is appointment setting by Albert Dutton. This is one technique that will improve your business performance and hopefully place a few extra clients into your portfolio this week. A few other techniques that I use are simple. 1. Follow up with one time customers, and repeat clients. 2. Provide free gifts for your customers such as a key chain, coffee mug, or even t-shirts for their kids. 3. Make pull tab fliers and hang them up at department stores, grocery stores, laundry mats, and events. 4. Hire kids for $5 + pizza to spread fliers around the neighborhood. Following up with customers is important, because they may have lost your contact information. If you call them up, they may remember that they have a task that they were meaning to call you on. You can figure out a price and day from there. Paying a little bit extra for items to give away can really warm a customers heart. They will feel appreciated and spread the word to their friends. Making fliers is great because it is affordable and has a very high ROI. The neighborhood kids need extra money also, and are willing to work for cheap. Make up some fliers and have Jr and his friends passing them out around the neighborhood. You can even order a pizza for them. These are my techniques that I am glad to share with you.
